A Friendship Rooted in Passion, Growing a Sustainable Dream
Welcome to our shared journey! We are two dedicated colleagues turned collaborators, coming together to create something extraordinary. While our day-to-day lives are spent working in the digital space, this project is a labor of love, born out of shared values and a desire to connect with the world in a meaningful way.
For me, this journey began with a cross-country move. My wife and I left sunny California to embrace the tranquility and possibilities of New Hampshire’s East Coast. We purchased a 5+ acre property with a vision of turning it into a self-sustaining homestead—a place where we can live close to nature, nurture a variety of animals, and enjoy the bounty of the land.
Our dream homestead is about more than just a lifestyle change; it’s a testament to our belief in harmony with nature. Plus who am I kidding, it’s closer to Italy so now our dream of living in the EU and US has finally started its journey into fruition.
From raising livestock, including fostering donkeys, dogs, cats and maybe having a few laying hens, to planting expansive gardens filled with fresh produce, and even installing solar panels to power our future, every step we take is a step toward sustainability and self-sufficiency. This will be the ultimate smart house.
A Love for Animals, Especially Senior Dogs
One of the deepest joys in my life is my love for dogs, particularly senior rescues. Over the years, I’ve fostered countless dogs, each with their own story, challenges, and triumphs.
There’s something incredibly fulfilling about providing a safe, loving environment for animals that need it most. This passion will undoubtedly be part of our homestead, where there will always be space for animals in need, whether it’s a senior dog seeking comfort or another creature deserving of a second chance.
Cooking, Nature, and Connection
Another love that has shaped this vision is my love for cooking. After spending my first 20 years in the work force I lived in New Orleans, NYC, Miami Beach and eventually San Francisco making my way through life working in the hospitality industry. From waitress, to bartender to eventually finding my groove in the kitchen.
There’s nothing quite like preparing meals with fresh, homegrown ingredients, bringing the earth’s bounty straight to the table. Cooking is more than a task; it’s a way to connect with the seasons, celebrate flavors, and nurture the people (and animals) I love. Whether it’s a hearty stew made from garden vegetables or fresh eggs collected in the morning, every meal is a celebration of this new life we’re building.
Being connected to nature has always been my guiding light. The simple pleasures—listening to birdsong at dawn, walking through dew-kissed grass, or watching the sunset over the ocean (now the woods)—are what ground me. This homestead is not just a project; it’s a place where those connections can deepen, and where we can share that experience with others.
